As most of you already know, missions is a big part of my ministry. I've ministered in a number of places around the world (most recently Tanzania and Ghana in Africa).
I've been honored with the opportunity to tour China twice where I performed in public schools and universities (as a guest of the Chinese government), on the streets, and in homes. I've become acquainted with some underground church leaders who asked me to come back and teach them some of our worship music.
So in 2006 I produced a CD with popular worship songs sung in English AND in CHINESE. The goal was to provide Chinese Christians - particularly those "underground" - with worship music that reflects the pop music of their surrounding culture. These recordings are being distributed to Chinese pastors and spread throughout China - and there's no doubt that they will be copied over and over and over...
I plan to continue working on the Mandarin Worship project as an ongoing part of my ministry. I'll head into the studio sometime later this year to record more songs. In addition, I've been asked to present a series of songwriting seminars in China.
I believe that this could be the most significant thing I may ever be a part of. If I had the resources, I would just fund it myself . . . but this is not the case. With your help, it will happen. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
